Weekend ever so brief

Holy cow! That weekend just flew by! Out of town for a wedding on Saturday took the entire day. It was a beautiful wedding and the reception dinner was steller. I now need to edit the two videos I have from the wedding. Never really done that before but it can't be too hard right?

Sunday was our day to tackle the crap in the back yard. The old "pool house" came down and with a little pushing and shoving it all fit in the garbage can. I still can not believe they built it out of screen doors - even the roof. The quality materials they used were rotten but the screws to hold it all together were standing strong. There really should have been a before picture but I just couldn't imagine wanting to ever see it again. Our first attempt at plumbing was successful! The pool pump crapped out and we replaced it with a new one. Yeah we know, we are rock stars. Maybe that will be the end of our pool woes for the season. I certainly hope so! Also, I pulled like a million weeds from the side of the house. I hate weeds.

After a loooong day in the sun getting stuff done I was ready to sew. The center main part to mom's quilt is done but I am still piecing together a little here and there to make it the right size. It is looking fantastic! The fun fabric really makes it. Maybe I will have time to start the back tonight. I have such a long list of creative things I want to do! Sometime this week I am going to go to the wet studio and take inventory. Then maybe I can start to piece back together my recipe book. I think I am still holding out hope that it will show up...

Randomness

I have decided that this blog will just work better for me if it is as random as my thoughts are :) No specific focus just me and all of my crazyness.

So the running thing hasn't really worked out. My knee gets inflamed so frequently that it is hard to make/keep a schedule. But now that my pool is open exercising will be much more comfortable for me! That is after we repair it for the second time this season. First the underground pipe was busted and now the pump crapped out. I will be trying my hand at plumbing very soon since I certainly wont pay for handy work if I can do it myself. Exceptions include mechanical things, crawling in tight dirty spaces or heights :) Other than that I am game.

The budget is tight this week and will be for the next month or so which means it is an excellent time to clean out the freezer and cabinets. I wanted to make ham balls and potatoes (I know heavy for summer but I have all the stuff to make it) but the hubby wasn't up for it. Now I am thinking that I will make that for dinner tomorrow and maybe a tossed garlic/parm pasta tonight. Who knows...

Really need to get going on the quilts again! Designing my own pattern for mom's quilt has made it more complicated and I now know that my favorite part isn't cutting the fabric. I am almost ready to start assembling it. There is a finished top and back that is just waiting to be quilted but I like to get a few ready before I take over the long arm at mom's for the afternoon :) But I am not giving up on my goal of making every Christmas gift we give this year even if it means I am making macaroni necklaces on Christmas Eve.

Probably time for me to start making a new list of things we need to go out of town for a wedding this weekend. First things first I must clean off the hard drive on our video camera and start charging the batteries, locate the tripod, try to find the power cord...and the list goes on.
